Director, Account Management
Crystal has over 20 years of experience in the energy and utilities sector where she supports strategies and programs that develop sustainable communities, install clean energy technologies, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Prior to joining the DCSEU, she served as a policy and programs advisor at the US Department of Energy, Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy. Crystal earned a Masters in Energy and Environmental Management from The George Washington University, a B.S. in Architectural Engineering from North Carolina A&T State University, and completed the Partnership for Public Service Excellence in Government Fellows Program. During her personal time she enjoys serving her community, cheering on local sports teams, and exploring regional arts and culture events.
Account Manager, Educational Facilities
Corey Chimka is a Senior Account Manager at the DCSEU where he serves as the direct link for commercial and institutional customers to take advantage of rebates, incentives and no cost technical assistance. Through his work, Chimka helps schools, municipal buildings, and more, save money on their utility bills and become more environmental conscious. Prior to joining the DCSEU, Chimka worked for than 10 years as an award-winning DC Public School teacher, followed by running the largest nonprofit afterschool program in the District.
Howard Harris, Jr.
Account Manager, Affordable Multifamily Properties
Howard is an experienced sales professional who has worked for various Fortune 500 companies over the past 18 years (Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, Toyota Motor Sales, Eli Lilly, and FedEx). Prior to joining the DCSEU, Howard worked as a Regional Manager for Clean Energy Fuels, the nation’s leader in providing sustainable, renewable natural gas solutions for transportation. Howard’s relationship-building skills helped to make him one of Clean Energy’s most effective and impactful members of the business development team. During his tenure, Howard assisted fleet operators throughout the East Coast region with an array of CNG projects including: CNG station construction/management, fleet acquisition, and conversions. Howard received his BS in Business Management and MBA from Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, Florida.
Account Manager, Hotels and Retail
Leigh is a DCSEU Account Manager for retail and local businesses to help them find energy solutions and rebates. She also handles the retail stores efficient products to make sure all of the rebated lighting and appliances are being regulated. She facilitates and maintains the relationship with business and store owners to make sure DCSEU projects with us are correctly handled. Leigh came to the DCSEU with more than 2 years’ experience working in the local business sector with an internet start-up company.
Account Manager, Small Business and Retail
Andrew is an Account Manager for small businesses and retail in DC. Before joining DCSEU, Andrew began his career out of college managing a ski/bike shop in Killington, Vermon, where he became interested in sustainability. After Killington, he spent a year working in sales at SolarCity and two years working in sales at financial tech company eOriginal in Baltimore, Maryland. Andrew graduated from the University of Delaware with a Bachelors in Political Science and History.
Giuliana Kunkel, CEM, LEED AP O+M
Account Manager, Colleges and Universities, Federal Buildings, and DoD
Giuliana (Giuls) is the DCSEU’s Account Manager for Colleges and Universities and for the Federal Government, including the Department of Defense. Giuls works closely with universities towards reaching campus sustainability goals, planning capital projects, and improving existing facilities. She also assists project teams in the Federal Government to determine energy efficiency solutions for their buildings and provides third party assistance when working with Energy Savings Performance Contracts (ESPC’s). Giuls’ background includes working as a Sustainability Analyst for The Tower Companies and working in customer engagement and marketing at a local renewable energy supplier. Giuls serves on the US Green Building Council NCR’s Market Leadership Advisory Board and is accredited as a Certified Energy Manager and as a LEED AP O+M.
Account Manager, Hospitals and Health Care Facilities
Frank began his professional career in energy, focusing on business development for international upstream software at WellPoint Systems (now P2 Energy Solutions). Prior to joining the DCSEU, he worked as an Account Executive in Political Advertising for Cox Media Group and E.W. Scripps, brokering TV sales for candidates, committees, and PACs. Frank earned a B.A. in Communications from the State University of New York at Oswego. Personally he enjoys family time, U.S. History, live music & sporting events, and volunteering for AFAC.
