Director, Account Management
Crystal has over 20 years of experience in the energy and utilities sector where she supports strategies and programs that develop sustainable communities, install clean energy technologies, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Prior to joining the DCSEU, she served as a policy and programs advisor at the US Department of Energy, Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy. Crystal earned a Masters in Energy and Environmental Management from The George Washington University, a B.S. in Architectural Engineering from North Carolina A&T State University, and completed the Partnership for Public Service Excellence in Government Fellows Program. During her personal time she enjoys serving her community, cheering on local sports teams, and exploring regional arts and culture events.
Account Manager, Educational Facilities
Cory Chimka is a Senior Account Manager at the DCSEU where he serves as the direct link for commercial and institutional customers to take advantage of rebates, incentives and no cost technical assistance. Through his work, Chimka helps schools, municipal buildings, and more, save money on their utility bills and become more environmental conscious. Prior to joining the DCSEU, Chimka worked for more than 10 years as an award-winning DC Public School teacher, followed by running the largest nonprofit afterschool program in the District.
Trade Ally Manager
Rick Fleury currently serves as the DCSEU's Trade Ally Manager, where he develops and maintains relationships with DC-area and national representatives for contractors, distributors, and manufacturers to help the DCSEU plan its programs and navigate the market. With a background in finance, Rick has more than 33 years of energy experience working for utilities in Arizona, Vermont, the Island of Kauai, and now Washington, DC. Before moving to the District nine years ago, he worked for Efficiency Vermont serving as Senior Program Manager – Lighting Technologies.
Account Manager, Hotels and Retail
Leigh is a DCSEU Account Manager for retail and local businesses to help them find energy solutions and rebates. She also handles the retail stores efficient products to make sure all of the rebated lighting and appliances are being regulated. She facilitates and maintains the relationship with business and store owners to make sure DCSEU projects with us are correctly handled. Leigh came to the DCSEU with more than 2 years’ experience working in the local business sector with an internet start-up company.
Account Manager, Small Business and Retail
Andrew is an Account Manager for small businesses and retail in DC. Before joining DCSEU, Andrew began his career out of college managing a ski/bike shop in Killington, Vermon, where he became interested in sustainability. After Killington, he spent a year working in sales at SolarCity and two years working in sales at financial tech company eOriginal in Baltimore, Maryland. Andrew graduated from the University of Delaware with a Bachelors in Political Science and History.
Account Manager, Hospitals and Health Care Facilities
Yvonne is a native Washingtonian with 16 years of experience working with cable/phone/internet providers. She transitioned into the hospitality industry 9 years ago at the Washington Marriott Wardman Park Hotel, working her way up from the Front Office to Group Sales, Event Planning, and finally into Catering Sales. Prior to joining the DCSEU, she served as Senior Catering Sales Manager at the Washington Hilton. Yvonne obtained her BS in Computer Science from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Marina joined the DCSEU Account Management team after completing the DCSEU Workforce Development Program which allowed her to make a career transition into sustainability. Her externship in the program was with the Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs (DCRA) as a Sustainability Analyst working on compliance projects and leading the Net-Zero Energy Program. Prior to this she was a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst in business development for corporate hospitality. She has a BA from the University of California Santa Barbara in Geography and a MSc from the University of Edinburgh in GIS.
Account Manager, Affordable Multifamily Buildings, Clinics, or Shelters
Patrice has over 10 years managing large-scale infrastructure projects. She has supported a variety of projects that include the Solar Advantage Plus Program (SAPP), The LIHEAP energy program, The Virginia Steps to Advance Virginia's Energy Plan (SAVE), and various infrastructure projects in the District. She is an avid advocate for vulnerable populations and works closely with organizations to help reduce the energy burden for disadvantaged populations, and provide resources and assistance to help to those that really need it. She has substantial experience working with District agencies coordinating events and outreach activities. Patrice’s skills also include competency in the foundational knowledge, concepts and terminology required to perform tasks related to Green Infrastructure construction, property maintenance, and general construction. Her certifications include MBDI; Professional Education Credits & Prosci; Certification in Change Management .
