Residential Heating & Cooling Rebates

Save when you replace your home’s old heating, cooling, or water heating with an energy-efficient electric system.

Get heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) rebates for your home.

  • Your home's heating, cooling, and water heating systems use a lot of energy. In fact, these systems generally make up most of your monthly energy bills. Take advantage of DCSEU HVAC rebates to upgrade to more efficient central air conditioning, heat pumps, and heat pump water heaters. Save even more on heat pump technologies when switching from gas to electric equipment.
  • The DCSEU offers $250 to $5,000 off qualifying electric heat pumps, heat pump water heaters, and air conditioners. All heating and cooling equipment (including water heaters) must be installed by a DC licensed contractor to qualify. Contractors must have a valid DC Master Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic license to offer cooling rebates or a valid DC Master Plumber license to offer water heating rebates. To verify your contractor’s license, we require the following Department of Buildings (DOB formerly DCRA) permits.  Mechanical permits are required for heat pump and air conditioning rebates; plumbing permits are required for water heating rebates. Make sure to review all eligibility and documentation requirements before applying.
