Solar for All

Use the power of the sun to cut emissions and utility bills.

Going solar is good for the planet and great for your wallet. Through the Department of Energy & Environment’s (DOEE) Solar for All program, we work with local contractors to design and install rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) systems at no expense to income-qualified District homeowners. These systems have the potential to offset electricity costs by as much as $500 per year.

Affordable Home Electrification

Save money and enjoy a healthier, more comfortable home.

If you’re an income-qualified homeowner or renter living in a single-family home within the District, the DCSEU can help you upgrade your heating and cooling systems at no cost. Once you’ve fully enrolled, qualified contractors will upgrade your natural gas equipment to new, energy-efficient electric equipment including a programmable thermostat, electric heat pump, electric heat pump water heater, and electric stove where applicable.
