Don’t Know How to Train Green?
Learn how to take advantage of the Train Green Sustainable Energy Infrastructure Capacity Building and Pipeline Program (Train Green SEICBP) program and gain access to free courses and certification exams for Certified Business Enterprises (CBEs) with this step-by-step guide.
Program Access
Complete our access form and get your Registrant Code.
- At the beginning of each Fiscal Year (October 1), accurately complete the SEICBP Train Green Program Access Form at dcseu.com/traingreen-register.
- After DCSEU staff determine your eligibility, you will receive a unique Train Green Registrant/Access Code for the relevant Fiscal Year. You will need this code to gain access to every course we provide throughout the Fiscal Year.
Course Selection
Determine your level of experience, pick a Course Pathway and Level, and choose the right course for you.
- You can find all our available course at dcseu.com/TrainGreen.
- Before you register, determine if the Course Level is appropriate for your level of experience and which Course Pathways are of interest to you.
- Further evaluate the description, prerequisites, time commitments, and credentials/exam offerings for each course posted that you are interested in.
Course Registration
Provide your Registrant code and email at registration, wait for DCSEU approval, and complete your course.
- Provide your full name, email, and relevant Fiscal Year Train Green Access Code at registration.
- DCSEU staff will review your registration for accuracy and approve, deny, or waitlist your registration request in line with the program eligibility tiers. You will not be granted access without an active Access Code.
- Once approved, you will receive direct access to course via relevant virtual platforms or receive further instruction on how to attend the course in-person.
- Attend and complete the course and any relevant certification exams.
What Are Levels & Pathways?
Train Green Levels and Pathways are designed to enable all eligible participants, from new beginners to experienced professionals, the opportunity to learn, develop career, and find the right courses for their interests. Each Train Green Pathway has a specialized topic area of focus and contains courses with various levels of difficulty. These courses fit into one of three Train Green Levels that can help you match your experience to the course difficulty.
Pathways
- Energy Efficiency - Courses focus on growing one's knowledge of auditing, benchmarking, modeling, and optimizing energy use within commercial and residential buildings.
- Sustainability & Health - Courses examine Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating systems and other building standards that focus on how the built environment impacts human health and wellbeing.
- Building Operations - Topics explore best practices for whole-building automation, maintenance, operations, and green property management.
- Heating, Ventilation, & Air Conditioning (HVAC) - Learning is specifically focused on HVAC system automation, operation, and maintenance.
- Renewables & Solar - Courses cover solar safety, installation and maintenance of battery- and grid-based solar systems.
- Design & New Construction - Discover sustainable construction techniques, including green building materials, residential and commercial net zero design, local green building codes, and environmentally friendly construction processes.
Levels
- Introductory - Provide a starting point for those without prior experience or new to the field with a solid foundation of each pathway.
- Basic/Intermediate - May have additional prerequisites and require previous work or course experience. They are designed to provide registrants with a level of knowledge that can prepare them for entry-level work with credentials and certifications.
- Advanced - Will have prerequisites found in the prior Basic category and can serve as an endpoint for a Pathway. They are designed to bring students with an existing knowledge base and/or experience to a higher level of competency with credentials and certifications.
