You will need the following documents for your online application:
- Signed W9 Form for the party receiving the final rebate (must be from October 2018 or more recent)
- Technical specifications (cut sheets) for your proposed measures that are not ENERGY STAR, NEEA or DLC 5.1 rated
Step 2. Apply for your rebate
- Visit Online Rebate Center at rebates.dcseu.com or click the button below.
- Create an account and begin your application.
- Choose from the commercial property options that best match your project.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to fill in information about your project.
- Enter project location information and indicate whether you are self-submitting on behalf of your own business or a third-party submitter on behalf of another business.
- Fill in products or proposed measures for the project.
- Review your application and click ‘Submit for Pre-Approval'.
Step 3. Confirmation & get your pre-approval letter
- You and your customer (if applicable) will receive a confirmation e-mail indicating that your application has been submitted.
- Once the DCSEU has reviewed your application, you will receive a Pre-Approval Letter from [email protected] within 2 weeks of submission of your completed application.
- A DCSEU Pre-Approval Letter is a reservation of incentive funds for the scope of your project. This includes:
- A 90-day reservation period
- Approved measures to be installed (any unapproved measures will not be included in this letter)
- Approved incentive amounts for each measure to be installed
Step 4. Complete project & submit invoice
All Business Energy Rebate projects must complete installation of all pre-approved measures before submitting any invoice. The purchase and installation of materials must take place during the 90-day reservation period.
Upon project completion:
- Visit Online Rebate Center at rebates.dcseu.com or click the button below.
- Log in to your account
- Locate your project (in 'Pre-Approved' section of My Rebates)
- Under options, click ‘Review & Submit’
- Review all project and product information to ensure accuracy
- Attach a paid and itemized installation invoice to application and click ‘Submit Application’ to self-submit or ‘Send to Customer to Complete’ to third-party submit
- You will receive an email confirming next steps
Step 5. Customer review & sign off
If you are submitting on behalf of a business that is not your own, the property owner or manager you specified in your application will receive an email. They will need to click the link in the email to review and sign off on the application within 30 days.
When they have reviewed and signed off on the application, you will receive an email.
Step 6. Get inspected
The DCSEU may need to perform an inspection of the property to confirm installation. Property owners and manager should expect to be contacted by a DCSEU Account Manager to schedule and discuss the upcoming inspection. An inspection can take up to 4 hours depending on the complexity of your project. Facility engineering and maintenance staff should be prepared to escort DCSEU staff to newly installed measures.
Step 7. Get paid
Upon completion and inspection of your project, you will receive your rebate from the DCSEU. Please allow up to 60 days for receipt of your rebate. If preferred, direct deposit is available for payment. Please inquire to [email protected] to get a DCSEU Vendor Intake Form to receive direct deposit.
How long does the rebate process take?
Typical equipment purchase to rebate payout time:
Working with DCSEU, the entire time from start to finish can be expected to take between 1 and 6 months.
Ensure the timely processing of your rebate:
- Submitting a completed application before September 15th of each fiscal year.
- Get pre-approved by the DCSEU up to 2 weeks after submission.
- Install your equipment and submit your invoice.
- Complete your inspection with a DCSEU Account Manager.
