Energy solutions for your home, your budget, and your future.

Our programs can help you save energy, cut costs, and reduce your carbon footprint. Whether it’s helping folks make the switch from gas to clean electricity, offering rebates on energy-efficient appliances, or connecting households with no-cost solar, we’re here to make energy upgrades affordable and accessible for our neighbors across all eight wards.

Affordable Home Electrification

The Affordable Home Electrification Program (AHEP) helps District households switch from gas to energy-efficient electric systems for heating, cooling, hot water—even cooking. Whether you rent or own, this no-cost program can help you boost comfort, improve air quality, and cut emissions. Upgrade your home and save money, too.

Solar for All

Going solar is good for the planet and great for your wallet. Through the Department of Energy & Environment’s (DOEE) Solar for All program, we work with local contractors to design and install rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) systems at no expense to income-qualified District homeowners. These systems have the potential to offset electricity costs by as much as $500 per year.
