On Tuesday, Metro thanked the DCSEU for being a "great partner and helping Metro become more #energyefficient" on Twitter.
Since 2011, the DCSEU has helped Metro save 60,025 MWh in lifetime energy usage through multiple energy efficiency projects, including lighting upgrades and chiller replacements. The DCSEU has applauded Metro's first Energy Action Plan, which the transit authority released on Earth Day. The plan is expected to provide WMATA with up to $16 million in annual energy cost savings and is expected to be fully implemented by 2025.
