Your Guide to Green

Home Heating

Replace your home’s old heating system with a more efficient model and start saving today.

If your current heating system is more than 15 years old or not working as well as you’d like, buying a more efficient model will put you on the road to major savings on your energy bills. While efficient heating systems can be more expensive, the cost difference will be paid back over time through lower energy bills.

Get More Out of Your Energy Dollar

Simply purchasing new equipment doesn't give you the maximum savings from efficiency. Consider ENERGY STAR systems. The higher the AFUE the more efficient the system. See the difference in energy costs below (based on savings from natural gas boilers).

Explore Heating System Types

Is your heating system old? Is your gas bill high? Does your heating system break down frequently? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then it may be worth it to consider a new high efficiency heating system.

Heating and Cooling equipment must be installed by a DCSEU Participating Contractor in order to qualify for rebates. Contractors must have a valid DC Master Plumbing/Gas Fitter license to offer heating rebates. If your contractor is not listed, please ask them to contact the DCSEU to enroll.
