Earning the Building Science Principles (BSP) certificate is your start into the world of energy efficient home performance. Building science is the study of how various components of the home interact to affect the home’s overall performance. Understand the relationships between the building envelope, heating, A/C, insulation, mechanical ventilation, lighting, appliances and other systems of the home. Learn how all of these systems affect the comfort, health and safety of occupants and durability of the home.

To obtain this certificate one will need to pass a 100 question online, open book, exam. Often a BSP Certificate is the first step towards a BPI Certification.

Intended Audience: Architects, Home Inspectors, Managers of energy efficiency incentive programs, Building owners, construction companies, Building trades, Remodelers, Insulation/HVAC/window sales reps and installers, Solar, geothermal heat pump and other renewable energy system sales reps and installers, sales reps and administrative personnel.

All training and certification courses are offered at no cost to participants on a first come, first serve basis. This program is designed to expand the local green workforce and local business opportunities.
