Building performance typically declines with age, as their moving parts wear out, sensors lose calibration, gaskets become brittle, and building engineers retire. Poor building performance impacts not only utility costs, but also asset value, occupant comfort, indoor air quality, and operations and maintenance overhead. Retro-commissioning (RCx) is a process that assesses building performance and identifies opportunities for improvement, with a focus on getting the building to work as intended and low-and-no energy efficiency measures. This course is intended to provide building owners, managers, and operators with a basic understanding of the RCx process and how it helps reduce building energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. The webinar will describe the RCx process steps, discuss RCx service procurement, present a case study, and review common energy conservation measures in the DC market.
