Since 2012, the DCSEU has worked with DOEE and local contractors to install more than 500 solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on single-family affordable housing in the District. These systems are generating enough electricity to offset nearly 70% of the energy costs on an average home in DC.*

The DCSEU Workforce Development Program prepares DC residents for careers in energy efficiency and renewable energy, connecting them with DC companies who want to train and develop people looking for new opportunities in the green economy.
All data are based on the DCSEU’s estimates of energy savings and are subject to rigorous monitoring and veriﬁcation by a third-party evaluation ﬁrm hired by the Department of Energy & Environment (DOEE).
